Dysfunction Abounds In This Horribly Lost World

It’s enough to make you wanna scream! Horribly disfigured and dysfunctional relationships everywhere in sight when all one might want is for people to shelve their egocentric agendas, get a grip on reality, and work as a team. Huh, what a pipedream...!
s
Life is like one train wreck after another. The image of a connection of twisted and charred wagons is representative of the lives and relationships that I see around me, seemingly all the time. They refuse to see it of course, blind to the damage. Collectively, we strive for happiness knowing all along it’s impossible this way: ‘My way or the highway.’ This way is the way of futility. Only the positively mad person would entertain it as the way forward. Yet our world’s inundated by people with this emblematic nature.
s
And then there are the innocent lives that are affected. It’s an absolute crying shame. We see it in this horribly lost and broken world. The innocent bystanders that are caught up in the wreckage, or are strewn with shrapnel of the breaking up train as it finally comes to rest. And what do the perpetrators do? They blame others; it’s not their fault of course. They hold no accountability for this disaster, a living catastrophe. They see not, their crucial role in loss, in denigration, in pointlessness. ‘My way or the highway’ indeed.
s
Team work. This is the solution. But nobody wants it. Nobody wants it because it would mean ‘not getting my own way.’ Instead of win-win, the selfish, gutless persons choose lose-lose as if they’re deriving some warped benefit. Little do they see that when someone loses, no-one wins.
s
This is why I remain resolute in waiting on my God. He is the only one at times; the only one to give me proper perspective when all around me battles rage. In the midst of the storm, when the heat melts everything else, his love is the glorious underpinning, ever enduring. It transcends by a million times and more what the evil of selfishness tries in vain to destroy.
s
This is where hope lives. In the soul that is quieted by God, hope abounds. This is a hope that never gives up. It can’t afford to; it’s all the twisted system has. Giving up would satisfy only one party -- the wrong party. It ought never happen.
s
Hope. One day they might see. One day they might put off their agendas long enough to see that helping another win is the only way to truly get a win for one’s self. One day they might heed the call to repent. One day.
s
Hope. Pray. One day.
