A Prayer for the Community at Easter

Almighty God
If You are for us,
how can ANYTHING be against us?
If You knew that You’d need to send Jesus to die to save us,
how can ANYTHING speak in opposition to that truth?
We are Yours, God, even as You cannot stop loving us.
If You said that the world is full of trouble,
yet that You’ve overcome the world,
how can we do ANYTHING else but trust You in our adversity?
If You hung on the cross and experienced excruciating death, for us,
how can ANYTHING we do separate us from Your love?
You cannot love us more than the cross.
If You knew we would face times such as these at present,
and You ARE the God of yesterday, today, and forever,
how can we not trust You all the more right now?
If You know that there are all sorts of evil forces in the world,
yet You still compel us to trust You notwithstanding,
surely we can abide in You as You abide in us unto eternity.
If You overcame death itself and appeared in resurrected form,
and overcame not only death but all power of evil on the cross,
how can we doubt Your ability at Easter to help us?
If You knew that in Jesus we would never die though we will die,
how can ANYTHING cause us to fear the mortal death,
when You in all Your glory are beyond it?
Give to us our daily peace, Lord,
knowing that You have all things under control.
In Jesus’ sacrificial and saving name we pray, AMEN.
