The day God came to be with us

Light of the World
coming to us like a Star
to those near and far
God’s grace now unfurled.

To live as He would die
born in a lowly manger
in near and mortal danger
incarnate from on High.

A still and lonely birth
He lay there as if awaiting
the world never anticipating
change coming to the earth.

His short life echoed fitness
the Gospel coming alive
the enemy could not deprive
the earth of God’s Witness.

Divine grace coming in
in flesh was the Word
the Gospel ever to be heard
“God’s redemption of humanity’s sin.”
