I Love Your Word, O Lord

“The Lord is my portion;

I love your Word, O Lord,

I love your Word,

It’s as sharp as a double-edged sword,

Yet, it frees me like a bird.

I love your Word, O Lord,

I love your Word,

Your desire is for hearts to align in accord,

Through it your Spirit’s heard.

I love your Word, O Lord,

I love your Word,

Doing without it I couldn’t afford,

With it you’ve caused my heart to be stirred.

I love your Word, O Lord,

Through it your Spirit’s poured,

With it, my mind you gird.

Through it you give me blessings to hoard,

In this Book of Books you’re adored,

Eternally Father, Son, and Spirit are undeterred.

What sets Christians apart from other God-fearers is their devotion to Jesus, and their belief in a Triune and living (relational) God of grace. The Trinity is the encapsulation of God—Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier. The legacy of God is the Presence of God (the Holy Spirit) along with the truth of God: God’s Word.

Power for the Transformation of Life

It is the Word of God, Jesus, who we love with all our hearts. This Jesus—through his Word and his Spirit—transforms the lives of all who read it with open eyes, ears, heart, and mind. The Father gave us the Son, so we may worship in Spirit and in truth.

The Bible from beginning to end, from Genesis to Revelation, is God’s revelation for the entire world—and to the very ends of the Earth this eternal Word must go. Many people call it humanity’s Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. This eternal Word is relevant not only to life in this world, but to the life beyond this life; to where we came from and where we go to. We are here just a short time.

This Word must continue undeterred, and it will, as it is God’s will that it would reach all people. What God has decreed will happen.

Most important of all, is what this Word of God, this Bible, means to us on a personal level. Does it speak to us or not; does God speak to us through it? If we can answer yes, the abundant life is opened to us and we may live free.
