“Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
~Luke 12:32 (NRSV).
Visiting dignitaries get the keys to the city. Those agreeing to offer up what they have—becoming heaven’s dignitaries in the process—reap what nothing but heaven can give; they receive the key to the kingdom that is above all kingdoms.
Do God’s eternal and contemporary will and yours is the kingdom. It is with pleasure that the King of kings gives it.
And due grace, even when we fail God at his will, we still find God’s pleasant and generous gift, in and through the glorious riches of the Saviour’s act—to die upon the cross for our personal debt, now and from everlasting to everlasting.
