Hidden with Christ in God

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
~Colossians 3:2-3 (NIV).
Paul is imploring all believers here to take stock of the new reality that is their life in Christ—it is new day by day, not just on the first day of the new life.
The New Reality - Your Life
This new reality which is your life—which is your first taste of real life because it is premised on the way life was always meant to be—brings you now within reach of every dream and goal you’ve ever desired; every good thing.
And this is so because the old life and the old ways have died. Because we’re reconciled under Christ we have a way back from all this unto the re-started life—re-course to adjust and continue to re-adjust our course in life; calibrating, improving, defining, refining.
In this we’re hoping to ‘hit the mark’ as much as possible for we’re saved not to continually miss our marks.
Hidden Deep
Herein lays the secret. Hidden deep in the Spirit of God—which Christ died for, to pave our way—is the answer. Provided we can keep things very simple and also provided we abide in truth, i.e. we can be continually and ruthlessly honest with ourselves, we can do anything we set out to do; any good thing.
We’re only ‘hidden deep’ and therefore empowered secretly with God if we really wish to be. If we seek him above all else and above every other single person, and we do this in ways that hides our magnanimous plans from all others, then we can achieve them in great portions, clamorous in spiritual determination—a focus second to none.
Life - No Dress Rehearsal
It is so cliché these days but it is never truer to know this.
Being appropriately ‘hidden,’ and we assume deeply, is the answer to manifesting the active spiritual life. Life is no dress rehearsal. We’re here not so much for practise, but for purposes spoken to our hearts all the time.
We are just as well to choose the right direction than the wrong. Nothing truly is in our way if we decide we want it badly enough.
As we raise our minds far above the fleeting mass of worries and concerns of the world we see as God sees. We see our past failures as not so much reminders of hopelessness but of our many opportunities we’ve used to learn; to take the learning deeper; to use it as a platform for future success. And that time is now—hidden with Christ in God.
Plumbing the Depths
There is a place deep in all our hearts where no other person can travel. It’s sacrosanct to ourselves and God paves our way. This is conditional only upon our wills—for it is God’s perfect will that we make the journey. This is never hidden from us. It is only best hidden from others as far as we’re personally concerned.
No investment deep into the nether reaches of ourselves is a wasted investment. We can only find more of what we’re truly searching for.
We’re encouraged. Go deeper!
